Sweet Child Time of Mine

Assalamualaikum and Aloha to all

Today I want to share with you my sweet nostalgic moment during my child time. I was a local football scene fanatic at age of 11. I’m a big Red Giant fans at that time. My favourite superstar always is my idol at that time such as Anuar Jusoh, Rusdi Suparman, Ismail Ibrahim, Azlisham Ibrahim, Nazzab Hidzan and several oversea superstars such as David Mitchell, Christopher Kiwomya the Gunners man. The scene was very happening although I’ve just seen it from the small 12 inches Panasonic television. Every Saturday at 8pm I always be in front of the television for my favourite match and I like to watch it with my whole family although my mother support Perlis and my father is Terengganurean.

The one that I always remember and make me smile till today is during I go to stadium. At that time I told my mother to go to my friend’s house so that we can do our homework together. Suddenly, my friend’s brother has a football match ticket and invites us all to the Stadium Shah Alam for the match between Selangor and Kedah. Firstly I feel very frightened because it is mayhem for me if my mother found out that I’ll go to stadium. But I’ll make myself calm and try my best to enjoy this weekend entertainment that is very different from before because I’ll just watch it in front of television. When we arrive at the stadium, the situation was very havoc and I can see there was a lot of little boy who fanatics to football just like me and my friend. Several home supporters waived to us and we replied back with my friend’s brother raise the Selangor flag. With joy and smile we greet the supporters, we also see the away supporters. They were very sporting and we’ll hear they say; “kalau kalah jangan marah noo”, which means don’t get angry if Selangor defeat. But we were kids and we just laugh and smile to them because they are very friendly. The match was very aggressive and more tackled was done by both sides. Firstly Azman Adnan makes a move and counter cross from left side to give a goal for Selangor by Suparman’s marvellous diving header. The Kedah head back with a great long range shot by their superstar and I think it’s from Badrulhisham or someone I don’t remember very well. At second half Selangor scored a controversial winning goal with a nice shot by David Mitchell. It is very fun to watch the superstar live in action in front of us. The match ended 2-1 and the problem is there was a big traffic jam in the area surround stadium. When we headed back to our home, my family is sleeping already except my mother and father. I told them we make homework and we watch football too at my friend’s house. My parents said ok and I feel very happy.

During daily school break I and my friend always play football at the hall located beside the canteen. Usually at the end of the match there must be broken windows because of the games hotshot. Sometimes we’ll success to escape but sometimes we’ll get scolded and punished by rattan and I still can feel it till today. It is a sweet memory for now but it is very hurt to get a double rattan shot at that time. When we play football I always like to slide up my collar so that it looks like Cantona wannabe. Eric Cantona play for Manchester United 1992-1999 and one of my favourite foreign superstars that rise up my football spirit time by time day by day. He plays football like he was the king of football, he always create the movement that can generate the superb score where the player that is the today’s star learnt. The flamboyant David Beckham, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Dennis Irwin at that time was very lucky to play with Cantona where they gained a super experience to grow up as today’s superstar.
